Mobile R-1234yf A/C Recharge in Miami

Auto A/C Repair LLC provides mobile R-1234yf refrigerant recovery, evacuation and manufacturer-specified recharge in eligible Miami-Dade service areas.

We verify that the vehicle uses R-1234yf, recover the existing refrigerant with appropriate equipment and install the correct charge by exact factory weight—not by pressure, can size or guesswork.

How Much Does R-1234yf Service Cost?

R-1234yf service pricing depends on the vehicle’s factory refrigerant capacity, system condition and whether the existing refrigerant can be recovered safely as uncontaminated R-1234yf.

Send the vehicle’s year, make, model, engine size and service location. We will verify the refrigerant specification and provide the applicable service price before work begins.

When diagnostic testing is required, the inspection fee is $100 for up to one hour. The inspection deposit is applied toward the recommended repair when the repair is approved.

Component repairs, contaminated refrigerant, excessive refrigerant requirements, extended diagnosis and work required before the system can be recharged safely are quoted separately.

When Standard R-1234yf Recharge Service Applies

Standard service conditions Additional evaluation or quote required
The vehicle is factory-specified for R-1234yf. The refrigerant type cannot be confirmed.
The refrigerant can be recovered safely with the appropriate equipment. Mixed, contaminated or unidentified refrigerant is suspected.
No component repair is required before completing the service. A leak or failed component must be repaired first.
The system has a qualifying factory refrigerant capacity. Large-capacity, rear-A/C, fleet or nonstandard systems.
The work can be completed within the quoted service procedure. Electrical, control-system or extended diagnostic testing.
The vehicle is at a safe and eligible mobile-service location. The location is outside the service area or lacks authorized parking.

If another condition prevents the recharge from being completed safely, we stop, explain the findings and provide the next recommended step.

Why R-1234yf Requires Refrigerant-Specific Service

A2L classification

R-1234yf is classified as mildly flammable. It must be handled using procedures and equipment appropriate for this refrigerant.

Dedicated fittings

Factory R-1234yf systems use refrigerant-specific service fittings and labels to help prevent incorrect charging and cross-contamination.

Precise charge weight

The refrigerant must be installed according to the vehicle’s exact factory specification using a calibrated scale.

Contamination control

Suspected R-134a, hydrocarbon refrigerant, stop leak or another contaminant must be identified before standard recovery begins.

R-1234yf is a lower-global-warming-potential automotive refrigerant used in many newer vehicles. EPA lists it as acceptable subject to specified use conditions for qualifying newly manufactured motor-vehicle A/C systems. Review EPA refrigerant information.

Warm Air Does Not Automatically Mean the System Needs Refrigerant

Low refrigerant is only one possible cause of poor cooling. Similar symptoms can be produced by:

  • Refrigerant leaks
  • Compressor underperformance
  • Compressor control-valve problems
  • Weak condenser-fan operation
  • Restricted condenser airflow
  • Expansion-valve restrictions
  • Electrical or control-system faults
  • Evaporator freezing
  • Blend-door problems
  • Mixed or contaminated refrigerant

Adding refrigerant without knowing the existing charge can overcharge the system. The proper procedure is to evaluate the system, recover the refrigerant when appropriate and recharge it by exact specified weight.

We never guess—we test and confirm.

Our Mobile R-1234yf Service Process

Verify the specification

We confirm the R-1234yf designation and factory charge quantity from the vehicle label and applicable service information.

Evaluate operation

Relevant pressures, temperatures, condenser airflow and visible evidence of leakage or malfunction are reviewed.

Identify when needed

If contamination is suspected, the refrigerant must be identified before standard recovery equipment is connected.

Recover refrigerant

Existing R-1234yf is recovered with equipment appropriate for the refrigerant and service condition.

Evacuate and recharge

The system is evacuated, vacuum stability is evaluated and the factory-specified R-1234yf charge is installed by weight.

Verify performance

Pressures, vent temperature, airflow and general A/C operation are checked after charging.

Vacuum stability is one part of the service procedure. It does not prove that the system has no leak under positive refrigerant pressure.

R-1234yf Must Be Recharged by Exact Factory Weight

Gauge pressures change with ambient temperature, humidity, engine speed, condenser airflow and system load. Pressures are important diagnostic measurements, but they cannot determine the exact quantity of refrigerant inside the system.

After recovery and evacuation, the correct R-1234yf charge is installed according to the manufacturer’s specified weight using a calibrated scale. Pressures and temperatures are then checked to evaluate performance.

  • No pressure-only charging
  • No guessing based on vent temperature
  • No small-can topping off
  • No customer-supplied refrigerant
  • No intentional mixing with R-134a or unknown refrigerants

Suspected R-134a or Contaminated Refrigerant Changes the Procedure

Some R-1234yf vehicles have been incorrectly charged with less-expensive R-134a or other products. A vehicle may initially produce cool air even though the refrigerant charge is incorrect or contaminated.

Standard service pricing assumes the system contains identifiable, recoverable R-1234yf. The standard procedure does not apply when the system may contain:

  • R-134a mixed with R-1234yf
  • Unknown or unapproved refrigerant
  • Hydrocarbon refrigerant
  • Stop-leak products
  • Unknown oil or additives

Contamination may require refrigerant identification, controlled recovery, additional handling, oil-balance correction, flushing or component inspection. The necessary work is quoted after evaluation.

R-1234yf Recharge Frequently Asked Questions

How much does mobile R-1234yf service cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle’s factory refrigerant capacity, system condition and whether the existing refrigerant can be recovered normally. We verify the vehicle information and provide the applicable price before service begins.

How do I know whether my vehicle uses R-1234yf?

Check the A/C information label under the hood. It should identify the refrigerant type and factory charge weight. Do not rely on model year alone because refrigerant type can vary by vehicle.

Can you use cheaper R-134a instead of R-1234yf?

No. R-134a should not be used as a cheaper substitute in a vehicle designed for R-1234yf. The refrigerants should not be intentionally mixed or treated as interchangeable.

Do you top off R-1234yf systems?

We do not guess how much refrigerant remains or add refrigerant based only on pressure. The existing refrigerant is recovered when appropriate so the system can be evacuated and recharged by exact manufacturer-specified weight.

Can you recharge an R-1234yf system that has a leak?

The system must be evaluated first. If a leak or failed component must be repaired before the recharge can be completed safely, we explain the findings and quote the repair separately.

Does a vacuum-hold test prove that the system has no leak?

No. Vacuum stability is one part of the service procedure, but it does not prove that the system has no leak under positive refrigerant pressure. Additional leak-detection methods may be required.

What happens if the refrigerant is contaminated?

Standard recharge service stops. The refrigerant may require identification, controlled recovery and additional corrective work before the system can be serviced properly.

Is same-day mobile service guaranteed?

No. Availability depends on scheduling, location, vehicle condition, parts and the service procedure required. Appointment availability is confirmed after the vehicle and location information is reviewed.

Where can mobile service be performed?

Service requires a safe private driveway, permitted private parking space, authorized workplace area or approved fleet property within the eligible Miami-Dade service area.
