When to Use the Car's Recirculation Button ?

recirculation mode bmw button should be on or off?

Recirculation air conditioning, door actuator open or closed?

Driver fatigue is a main concern in the battle to decrease road accidents and fatalities, other than lack of sleep, driver fatigue could be caused by car’s in-cabin too high temperatures and exhaust pollutants such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and nitrogen dioxide inducing poor coordination and reaction time while driving, that may increase the likelihood of a collision.

Auto In-cabin air quality & outside air quality.

Carbon monoxide gas is produced during incomplete combustion of fossil fuels. Concentration of 9 PPM is suspected to produce adverse health effects, according to EPA.In an attempt to avoid unpleasant smells from chemical substances into the auto-cabin from the driving environment the car’s air conditioning system, driving urban areas is mostly set to recirculation mode; by doing this most of the fumes from other vehicles sharing the road are trapped by in cabin air filters and purified by the ac evaporator core and this air is recirculated inside the cabin over and over again. When set to this mode for long driving periods of time, high concentration of carbon dioxide are created due to crew’s own exhalation, decreasing the quality of the air inside the cabin.

Replacement & installation of recirculation air door/air door actuator

When recirculation mode is activated on the head control settings the computer commands the hvac door actuator to close the door thus preventing outside fumes to get into the cabin.

Removal of hvac door actuator

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector to the mode actuator that is located on the left side of the air distribution case
  2. 3.Remove the screws.
    4. Remove the adjuster links from control lever.
    5. Remove the mode actuator.
Installation Procedures

1. Install the mode actuator.
2. Install the screws.
3. Install the adjuster links to control lever
4. Connect the electrical connector.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Test the circuit operation.

Cost of a/c door actuator/door  replacement service.

The cost will depend on the type of car; make model and year you drive. In most to get access to hvac door actuators/hvac doors removal of dashboard is needed. Our mechanics are mobile, which means they’ll come to your home or office with the best prices in town because we don’t have the high overhead expenses conventional repair shops have

Vehicle’s air quality monitoring & sensors.

An air quality sensor plays a vital role maintaining and acceptable air quality level. The air quality sensor will detect undesired gasses and odors such as: carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide or carbon dioxide outside as well inside the car, automatically triggering actuators in the hvac case to adjust the flow of air in and out of the cabin, keeping an optimal recirculation valve operation.Manually controlling this setting in your vehicle, the best option would be to take fresh air into the cabin, especially during long driving periods from time to time.
